Who we are

In the Summer of 1997 a circle of youngsters from the East side of Salinas came together to put on a show for their neighborhood. That show became Baktun12, artists, musicians, poets, teatristas and filmmakers committed to presenting community truths and resident power.

Our Mission

Baktun12 is an East Salinas theater and media organization committed to the cultivation of oral histories and community actions that empower working families throughout the Salinas Valley and beyond.
